Epic Haul~ FromJapan + TaobaoSpree

Now, I know some going-out posts are due, speaking that I haven't updated on my life since Easter... but I just had to share this huge haul of junk I just got in the mail this weekend xD

Now, I made my review from FromJapan previously in this post, I was relieved to find that despite the amount of clothing I bought the shipping was a bit cheaper to my last 3 mag + 1 jsk order. Book's weight are a b, for real. (Or maybe it has to do with all the individual shipping.. I don't know). I also prepared myself time-wise so I wouldn't be caught struggling paying for it and then living on with short cash for however long.

I managed to buy all of these goods from a single secondhand shop site. Including my most wanted item...

I've wanted this D.I.A. hooded one-piece (or something similar in that color!) for a LONG time after seeing someone like Yumachi or Mipochi or someone rock that color. When my friend Shaka showed me the site it was at like 3990 yen at first, which I was kind of reluctant on since I'm super cheap, but then it went on sale for -990- yen. I could not resist myself. I heard the angels of heaven prompting me to get this onepiece and I just had to.

lol dat engrish

Everything else was very cheap too. Amazing amazing amazing.

These two are my next two favorite buys out of this package. The vest I believe is real suede leather * w* it just feels so smooth in my hands and it's not thin or cheap or flimsy or anything, ahhhh

And the chiffon top... is the softest, most fluid top I've ever seen. It's not some crappy sheer material either, it's actually layered with lining and everything, but yet it flows so well and it's so light ; w;

Just look at that...

Some Deary/Yumentebo goods I managed to snatch up. They're both really cute ; w; I'm glad I was able to snatch them up, especially for the price I got them for!

I am selling the red DreamV top though, and the fuchsia hoodie because eh, they were more impulses and the hoodie doesn't quite fit me. The hoodie is from a brand called "Passion Girl" and a size M. I'll update my sales page later!

~~~~~~
Now as far as TaobaoSpree, it's been a while since I directly bought from them. My first agent Lucy had since left the company, so now Candy is my new TBS agent. After dealing with other people like Doris who was a major derp :/ Candy is just as reliable as Lucy was and I'm so sticking to her for a long while. She is well-spoken, she replies quickly, AND sometimes on weekends when TBS is supposed to be closed. One of TaobaoSpree's best agents I have dealt with so far.
Originally I was going to order through Taobao English, aka chinabuyagency.com, but I was turned off by their tendency to tell people things were 'sold out', when in fact they were made-to-order or reserved items. Apparently some things were missing out of my friend's group order that she did so I ended up not going through them, and I'm glad I did. Some of the things that were supposedly 'sold out' Candy was able to order, or she was able to actually TELL ME the waiting period of the items and things like that. When I tried to ask Taobao English, they just told me it was 'sold out' when I questioned the fact that so many of my wanted items were sold out without the page saying so.
In any case I was able to get most of what I wanted, which I was very satisfied with - u- Even more so that it all came in time for the start of hanami season! Imagine all the spring-y fun photoshoots that are gonna come out of this~
These two I actually got through my friend's group order~
Princess Melody (?) fuzzy hooded cape~
MA*RS (?) top
 And then the rest were from TaobaoSpree..
This came from the same shop as the two above, I do plan to make an -actual- store review of that Taobao store! Mainly because I believe that their things are from the actual factory that makes the actual MA*RS/Princess Melody items, so either unmarked and same-factory, or factory rejects. I'll explain why later.
 I finally got myself a Candy Sugar schoolbag, from one of the many taobaos that sells the merch from the same factory. This is actually their smaller shoulder bag, unlike the full-size bag like my friend Mei used to have, so I was kind of sad, but that's because the full-size were sold out. At some point I'll get the full-size bag... someday... x3
 More school things! I've been wanting to buy school stuff for almost two years now, and I finally got along to doing it xD I got them from angelpaopao.taobao.com I believe. The quality is really good and I definitely plan to order more things through them again!
Galaxy Shirt.
These boots... these are actually OTK boots that I've seen on ebay for the longest time and I finally got my hands on them! In my size! In the past when I saw them on ebay they never had them in my size, PLUS the sellers were trying to sell them for maybe 30 bucks. The store I got them from only sold them for around 9-10 dollars. I was able to custom-size them to my US 10 foot, I forget if there was any extra cost, but I don't think so. You don't know how happy I got these. Especially a black pair AND a brown pair. The 'chestnut'ish color has been in style since the beginning of this year and now I don't have to look for a pair of brown OTKs locally.
As far as support and stuff it's kind of hard because of my messed-up joints, but they are like 2 inch heels so it helps a great deal. I can't wait to wear them out!
A couple of these stores I really want to do specific reviews on, but that won't come until I buy a couple of more things from them. But I loooove everything.
Now the only problem is.... finding a place to put them. My drawers are completely full.
March Get~!
Bought a couple of things during March~  mainly a lot of discounted stuff o:
Fur collar from H&M~ it's kind of like a candyfloss or a platnium kind of pink~
April Ageha~ This month came with a Liz Lisa mirror. It's pretty cute!
I found this blush/bronzer duo stick in Victoria's Secret... I was pretty curious about the color, so I bought it~
When it comes to 'generic' colors I tend to be a bit weary since it's not really meant for darker skin tones.
But then I took a swatch test, and used it with my regular makeup...
This is a swatch without blending, below is an example with blending...
I was pleasantly surprised with how much both appeared on my skin~
Now I use the blush as a base before I apply my powder blushes. It helps my blush last, no matter the color. Usually blush disappears halfway through the day, but with this stick it lasts much longer!
As far as the bronzer side... it's pretty obvious that it's way too light for my skin, haha. But it's still pretty good as a highlighter~ so I use it when I can't find my Benefit stick, or for spots like my forehead and stuff. It does it's job~
While I was at it, I also got this blush. The color is "Fresh Love". It's a pretty nice coral-shade and I wanted to see how it would show up on me... with the blush/bronzer stick, this blush looks pretty damn awesome. No regrets with this purchase!
This shadow purchase was kind of impulseish, during the Secret Rewards period. It's "Iced", a pretty nice silver-white color, but I don't know how much I'll actually use it... not sure if I can return it either.
I had a coupon for a free body spray~ decided to get Strawberries & Champagne... it was one of my favorites from when I used to work for VS.
The two lenses I got from Shara! One of them being the EOS G-204s, the other G-210s, both in grey. Planning to give these away in future giveaways~
The pair of shorts I bought for my Kyary concert outfit next week~
One thing I love about stores like Strawberry's and Rainbow's is that an awful lot of the bottoms-products they stock are made for my shape, and are nice and stretchy but durable. I got these and then I just put another pair that are lime-ish colored on layaway :3~
A lot of these things make me anxious for the summer! I can't wait for hot temperatures, warm bright sun and ice cream everywhere xD
I won another giveaway!
I've been having a bit of luck these past few months, having won a couple of things from blogs/tumblrs and of course the Kawaii Int'l thing~ and now I won yet another prize! It's something that I've been whining to myself over so I'm very glad I won it. ♥
The giveaway this time was hosted by Christine de la Creme. Thanks girl ; w; I'm really happy (sorry that I didn't reply to your last e-mail! I've been caught up on work..)
PINK earbuds~ I forget that they tend to have these little random items like earbuds and even telephones xD I'll definitely use this once my current ones burn out on me~
And then finally, my long lost love, another Victoria's Secret bag xD This was one of their promotional items from a few weeks ago, where you had to spend like 65-75 dollars as usual. I wasn't in any position to try and get it, nor did they have too many interesting things to buy, so I missed out on it. But then I kept seeing some chicks walking around the city with it... :c I was craving it after seeing just how big it is.
I'm so glad I was able to win it! It's about as tall as my old tote bag, but this one can hold much more and I'm so looking forward to using this xD Christine's giveaway had a 'travel' theme and I will most definitely use this when I'll be going back to Guyana this summer... ♥
Long-awaited Liz Lisa 2013 Fukubukuro
Back in October or November, I joined in on all the hype over the 2013 New Year's lucky pack season. I wanted EVERYTHING from EVERY BRAND and looking at Shibuya 109's online pre-sales and the brand sites I was freaking out everywhere.
Despite lucky packs being super cheap compared to the amount of stuff inside, they always turn out super expensive, especially when you're trying to import-- so I knew that in reality, I couldn't get too much.
Baby, the Stars Shine Bright's lucky packs this year was super expensive, and honestly it discouraged me because their cheapest was like 200 USD. :/ I started the whole "well back in MY DAY they had affordable little basic lucky packs for 70-150 bucks and blahblahblah" in my head. Angelic Pretty was alright, but I wasn't too interested in what they had (or matching basically everyone in my community). Innocent World was tempting... but I wanted to try and break away from getting lolita all the time, so I looked at more gal-type stuff. As far as pre-sales, MARS, La Pafait, D.I.A. was already sold out a looong time ago. It was pretty disappointing. But Liz Lisa was still there...
At the end of the day I ended up getting a Liz Lisa fukubukuro! I had my bby Yuuki snatch one for me from the actual store, since the store and the online shop was a bit different (the online store had plain white bags, meanwhile the in-store had pink floral print bags..) As tempted as I was with the luggage pack, which was so adorable, I ended up getting the big ribbon tote bag. Really, when it comes to Liz Lisa, I only go for the bags themselves. Liz Lisa's sizing is a bit eh for me and I never expect to fit into their clothing.. I wanted to go for D.I.A., or La Pafait, but since Yuuki was running a service for mostly lolita items, I doubted that he'd get one of those in time before they sold out...
Overall my lucky pack was like $175ish after Yuuki's fees, which isn't too bad. I can't imagine how much it would have been for the luggage pack xD
But my God the shipping...? The shipping would've been around 80 dollars which was INSANE. So my lucky pack was sitting in his room for the longest time because I never got around to pay for it. But luckily one of our friends was going to Japan to visit! And somehow, by the grace of God, I was able to evade that crappy shipping price altogether xD Thank you Rei for smuggling my lucky pack into the states..
But anyways, on to the pictures...
Unimaginable feels taking place LOL
In this image, you can really see the size of this bag. It's actually -larger- than my Victoria's Secet tote bag that I always carry around... completely stuffed, it's actually bigger than my whole upper body, both length and width-wise. Crazy.
The mound of stuff I got! The main colors being natural whites, browns and pink, as most of Liz Lisa's stuff are nowadays.
The coat that I received-- it's a nice fuzzy coat. It actually fits me (length-wise.. of course my breasts would forbid it to close), but I'm not planning to keep it~ if you're interested in purchasing, look for my next post!
Original price: ¥ 16, 590
Left's neckline detail~
Two -really- cute tops~ both of them made of this soft, knitted material, one more of an off-white color, the other a tint or so darker. The sheer necklines are really cute (though a bit annoying because of bra-straps showing and stuff!), and perfect now that spring is finally coming along to New York City--
Original Prices: ¥ 7,245 & ¥ 6,195
This dress... is a bit of a sad irony. It was so beautiful, the fabric soft and light and flowy ; w;
BUT. IT DIDNT FIT ME.
This absolutely blew my mind. The dress even has a elastic waist band that gives you a LOT of space... but the bust area is just like 'nope lol'. It gave me the serious 'grandma boobs' because my rack had no place to go but down.. it was really depressing ; w;
Collar detail
With any Japanese brand stuff, it's usually always the dresses that fit, and the tops and everything ill-fitting, but with Liz Lisa, it's the complete opposite. So all my tops, and even the skirt I received fit me... but the dress doesn't. I am disappoint.
Luckily, a friend bought it off of me ; u; so now it has a good home.
Original price: ¥9,345
I'm... blown that I can get this skirt on. And it's actually comfortable.
It's pretty cute! At first I was worried that the cut and stuff would look really bad on me, but it actually rest nicely on my hips. Of course it's a bit on the short side, but that's nothing that shorts can't fix~
Original Price: ¥ 7,245
And finally, the little makeup? pouch? It's nice and soft but it the design doesn't really make sense to me. I don't know, the whole fur with frill kind of throws me off xD And I already have enough pouches and makeup bags to last me the rest of my youth...
Original Price: ¥4,095
So the lucky pack was like what, ¥12,500 (a little over 130USD)?
While the value of the things in this bag came out to ¥50, 715!
That's over 530 USD! And not even including the possible value of the lucky pack tote!
AHSDKBAHWEJABDHSABD
Even though I wasn't able to fit absolutely -everything-, nor am I planning to keep all of it, I'm so glad I got this lucky pack ; u; It's just.. AHHHHHHHH
January Purchases--
I did a bit of birthday shopping throughout the month of January~ Luckily a lot of it were just sale items that I snatched up really quickly xD
But first some of my things from Guyana~
I managed to get this bracelet for myself while I was in Georgetown--
I've always wanted shell jewelry like this, but for whatever reason here in NYC, people want to sell them for 8 dollars or so... and I'm extremely cheap when it comes to accessories :x
So I was pleasantly surprised when I managed to snag this for what would've been 3-4 USD~ it's very pretty, even though it does that weird 'rusting' (? I don't know what this is called) that some shells do when they turn blueish or green.
These I got for my sister. My sister found that her father's side of the family was Guyanese when she started connecting with relatives on facebook-- so now she embraces that nationality. I wanted to get something for her since I was there, but I didn't want to get her the typical "flag" jewelry or anything obviously touristy... but then the jewelry itself (where I went, at least) were very afrocentric which isn't really my sister's style.. so I got these. When I go back I'll probably try and get something better for her.
Some of what's left of my Guyanese cash~
don't be fooled, this money is literally worthless, haha.
200 Guyanese dollars = 1 USD
So here you have like $5.60 worth, LOL
We carried maybe 50-60 USD worth for food down there, though, and we barely used any of our money.
The hotel we stayed at had complimentary breakfast, and their dinners were no more than 3-5 dollars. And then when we were staying at a pastor's place, we were being fed there so we barely had to use our money, really.
I can't wait to go back~ I'll probably end up bringing about $100 worth so I can do some real shopping haha
But yes... back to my birthday purchases.
One of the stores in Downtown Brooklyn were having a sale and so I got these for a good price...
The original price for this 2-iron set was 19.99, I got it for 9.99. It gets very hot and it doesn't have a dial like my old one, so I really only use this for my own hair and my human hair stuff. I still have my old iron but I'll probably end up replacing it once I find a new iron with a dial on it.
The place had their Outre extensions on sale 25% off... so I spent like 16 dollars I think on this hair. 18 inch wefts. The only bad thing was that the hair was kind of reddish for a #2-- but I managed to make it blend well with the 24-26" human hair extensions I did have, so I just used it to help fill those extensions out.
February Ageha like I usually get~
Getting really tired of the free makeup bags though. How many makeup bags do they figure their readers need???
They should start putting hair accessories or more lashes as free gifts... or something
Some more dollar books I got from Book-Off. I kind of regret these since they're kind of old and the fashions in there are kind of tacky.
FAIRY LASHES. The "Shiny Lash".
I was so excited to get these, I got them off of ebay. I really wanted to try them out because they were my favorite lashes that Sakurina and some of the other Ageha models wore, and it made them look soo pretty.
However when I got them I realized they were actually top lashes. wtf?
I looked back on the official website and it said "top lashes-- but can be used as bottoms as well" and I was like whaaaaaat
I'm usually very iffy about using top lashes as bottom lashes... the lashes have a different curve than if they were made to be bottoms.. so trying to work with these were really weird and kind of frustrating at first. The whole band didn't want to sit on my face right, without bending itself out of place really weird. Finally I cut up a pair and figured out a way to wear them a way that I like. I really enjoy them! I'll probably do an actual lash post at some point soon.
Ruby Kisses' HD Gel Eyeliner-- the best manmade item ever. My korean eyeliner finally had given out in December and I needed a new liner fast, and Ruby Kisses proved to be absolutely perfect.
The gel glides on so easily-- maybe a bit too easy....
While it seems really moist and slick, once it sets it's very hard to remove! It doesn't smudge once it sets, it doesn't melt, none of that mess. It lasts for so long, and it stays jet black. I love it so much. I'm never going back to bigger brand liners again. Beauty store brands are becoming my BFFs.
Now this is the little birthday gift you'll get from Sephora this time around, if you're a Beauty Insider. I didn't get my gift from last year because a year or two before because I just couldn't get along to it-- but this year I ended up going and getting my item, and they gave me these little mini-sized mascara and highlighter by Benefit.
And let me tell you, this stuff is so good. The mascara's nice, it makes my lashes look nice and full. Maybe not so much to the point that Makeup Forever would, but this still does nicely.
The highlighter though? Another best friend of mine. Before, I used to highlight my face with an old nude eyeshadow that I used, and it would do it's job, and highlight my nose area a bit and stuff-- but with this? my nose contouring and my eye area looks so much brighter. It's nice and sheer, doesn't apply heavy, and it'll work for different skin tones. Contouring will never be the same for me again.
If you're a Beauty Insider-- definitely get this item. Just do it. My God.
I'll probably come up with a beauty favorites video soon~ since my camera and the lighting in my room seem to have an issue really cooperating, I'm gonna probably compensate by talking about some of my most-used items~
