Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual gets (Jan 2013)

I got myself a little haul as always during VS's semi-annual~
It was a bit difficult for me this time around because of my trip to Guyana which basically depleted my cashflow for a few weeks. But with VS being evil and coming out with not just one, but ~3~ holiday Bombshell fragrances? I had to do swipe stuff up quick.

If you don't know me like that, Bombshell has always been my favorite fragrance from Victoria's Secret-- so whenever they come out with a special Bombshell fragrance I feel obligated to buy it.

The holiday fragrances were "Bombshell Diamond", "Bombshell Platnium", and "Bombshell Sparkle". The boxes were designed in a way to be like Christmas ornaments..

Aren't they beautiful? ; u;

It was more difficult to find Diamonds when the sale started...
I'm assuming that it was the most popular of the three, not only because of the fragrance, but the design of the perfume bottle as well. It has a 'choker' with cascading stones that looks really sexy.
Sparkle is completely covered in pink glitter, while Platinum is covered in silver glitter with silver chrome stripes.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the matching lotions and body spray with these.. but I'll live, haha

And then I succumbed to PINK stuff.... a sports bra and these hot pink sequined shorts.
I was never really one for PINK, but when I looked at VSX and saw that their stuff either wasn't in my correct size or wasn't flattering me that well, and that the prices weren't all that low, I decided to look in the PINK section and I snatched these up.
The sequined shorts were the last pair in my size.. I had to. pink, flashy, and on sale? yep.
The sports bra was more to just go with it. I was never one for sports bras but my God, I love this bra so much now haha. The only thing is that the material is not all that breathable I guess, but I'm forever wearing it around the house and stuff.

And then as far as cosmetics, I didn't go all out. I honestly didn't really like the tones of the lipstick they had, and I wasn't really bent on getting their bigger seasonal makeup palette or anything like that, so I settled on these two.
The bronzer does a pretty good job, it leaves me with a pretty nice glow without being too much. My other bronzer from VS is a bit darker and I mainly use it for contouring, so this is my bronzer when I want to just dust all over my face and body. They had the bigger version of it, but I decided against it because I was kind of tight on money at that moment.

And then there's the "Diamonds After Dark" duo shadow in "Jewel Thief"...

I mainly wanted to get this because I barely have any cooler colors~ so I was like hey, it's silver & blue~ The shadows are very soft, which may be a plus or a negative for some~ I did try doing a makeup look with it that came out okay, but I think I need a better primer or cream shadow underneath for these shadows. I think I'll also try to look into some actual glitter as well to go along with this.

So I didn't get -too- crazy on the sales... but now VS is coming back with their 'Secret Reward' cards again, so I'll probably be going nuts with that in the coming weeks @ w@

NYC Gal-O-Ween meet ~ 10/27/12

So it's been a long while since there's been ANY gal meet in New York City-- I remember when I was still freshmeat I tried to plan a weekend-long meet with others during the summer of 2008 or so-- which had a pretty good turnout of maybe close to 10 people if I remember. A lot of us were still pretty new to the style, but there was a mix of us newbies, and experienced gals like Ashley (before she moved to Japan), Rio, Usagi, and Xiao (you get some serious candy if you remember her).

After that though? Nothing but flakiness, mostly. Either flakiness or drama and since I was doing and going through a bit with my local lolita community at the time, I really didn't have the time or the patience to even try to make meets. The local gals were definitely worse off than lolitas ever have been. So since then, for the most part, most gal meets within the area have been nothing much more than simple little hangouts among friends, which in my opinion is more comfortable than anything.

So when Usagi made a Gal-O-Ween minimeet before the hurricane, I was glad that it was mostly people I knew-- the only exception being Glee, who I knew from the net but never met in person prior to that day. No derps (me being the exception), no idiots, no annoying ass, fail-shoop queens with nappy weaves. buenoooo

I met up with them maybe an hour or two late because I spent the WHOLE night and morning trying to style my wig (that'll come in another post),  My outfit was barely themed, and pretty much put together last minute because I was so tired... I don't really have a costume, didn't feel like wearing lolita, and plus because of the impending weather at the time I guess the temperature DROPPED so I couldn't dress like a sl00t. I'd need to get used to the cold before I could wear shorts without giving a damn.

From Usagipyon's instagram. Because you know. I'm technologically lacking in the phone dept.

We met at Kino's where there was this random kid who tagged along with us until we went to get food... idk... I get really irritated when random people on the streets decide to drop in on meets and follow you as far as they could. On top of it he called himself lolita when he was anything but and... lord I don't know. I just don't LOL

Anyways when I got there, we went on a hunt for food. We cut through the fabric district, stopping in a store or two, to make our way to Go!Go! Curry which turned out to be completely filled... so we went to the Times Square Gyu-kaku instead for some yakuniku.

Someone is clearly hungry

After a while Usagi left and when me, Paulette and Glee left the restaurant we kind of wandered through Times Square, across to 5th avenue, checked out the Rainbow's near 34th street, made our way to K-town (for some cake and some bubble tea which was watery as hell... I love that bakery in general, but the bubble tea only had enough tea powder to give it a bit of color, basically), down to a makeup store in the 20s and then BACK up to 34th xD

Halfway through all of this I think we all got hit by the "Itis", so visiting the re-done Victoria's Secret 34th st flagship store was probably more dream-like and sensual than it really should have been LOL

The 34th street store used to be 2 floors, but now they made it into THREE. THREE FLOORS. The way they redid it really did make it feel like it was bigger and more spacious than the old layout, but we'll see when Christmas comes along...

Every part of this store was eye-catching. The first floor consisted of  VS Beauty and the special lingerie sets.

While downstairs was VSX, PINK, and Swimwear..

Upstairs was the more regular underclothing/lingerie and I think their supermodel essentials line. Holy crap, was upstairs pink.

I think my favorite part of this  Victoria's Secret, which was always a favorite because of the decor and the feel of the store's theme, were the big TV panels and screens, the elegant pink furniture speckled around the store, and most of the prop items that were real books, furniture, athletic gear, etc...

Also, the abundance of mirrors. We were being silly and taking photos in nearly ever mirror  in the store. But for the sake of your sanity, I'll leave most of my shots out.

Even the bathrooms were more sexy looking than usual.

Heading upstairs to the top floor...

I really, REALLY wish they sold these boxing gloves! I'd have these hanging in my room.

These swim shorts were some sort of gold crocheted or something, I can't explain it but my god, it was so cute and I'd love to snatch them when I have the chance.

I don't look at PINK like that, I actually usually dislike the PINK line (I always thought it was bland and just lazywear-- which it is but now I'm more open to that looool), but these sweats are so cute. The sequined logo is so glittery and it stands out a LOT. Need these.

A lot of the mirrors also had random little sayings like this...

I wish I could remember to do something like this. How long ago did I try to tell myself to buy a full-length mirror? Now I need to remind myself to not only get one, but to get some sort of chalk marker or something to scribble random shit to it.

You could tell our energy levels were near to none. After a good hour or two in that store, we decided to book it on home. Me and Glee took the same train home and we were knocked out as soon as we got on.

Some extra shots~

Blank books with VS stickers inside. I'm sure they'll be filled with random comments soon enough...

First(?) shopping of 2012~

Having got my last paycheck last week, I've been splurging here and there, while trying to save the rest for my birthday next weekend xD

I couldn't resist Victoria's Secret semi-annual sale though!

You know how I love Bombshell, and how I fapped over Bombshell Seduction, welpppp the store in South Street Seaport (I don't know if the other stores were doing the same) were having this ridiculous sale, 75% off on a BUTTLOAD of their fragrance/makeup stuff, mostly their pink kabuki brushes, Beauty Rush lipglosses, etc and Secret Garden stuff~ but there was ALSO lotions and mists of some of their signature lines, e.x. Heavenly, and to my surprise SEDUCTION (kinda sorta, at the same time kinda not. It was a limited run anyways).

It was 5 dollars. 5 dollars for the lotion. I had to control myself before I brought like, 3 of them!

Alllll mine mwahahahahahaha!

Now that my Seduction set is complete, I am a very satisfied girl

I also ended up buying a jackton of Secret Garden stuff, but those were pretty much for my church friends for their birthdays. The mists and stuff were 3 dollars each, my god

Also decided to get these two Beauty Rush lipstuff since they were 1.75 each!
Double Truffle again

"Pink Shake" lipstick... it's actually really moist for a lipstick, as in it doesn't really stick to my lips that well. It feels like it's almost like gloss as a stick or something, it's pretty weird. I like it regardless, because it actually makes a pretty nice nude lip, but I definitely need a primer or something, or a lipstain, or maybe a layer of foundation or concealer underneath before I apply this, because it's pretty quick to transfer itself elsewhere. (Tastes good though)

Also saw this in the bin, don't know if it was just regular price or what, but since I desperately needed a new wallet I got it anyways~ It's soooo cute. I love the color and the leopard print and gah * w* so happy

Goodbye old Swimmer wallet, I knew ye well...

Also, when I got my last paycheck I also had to splurge a bit -more- and buy some more jewelry from my job.

I love the design, but I hate the stuff... I'm glad I'm not working there anymore, so I don't have to lie about things being 'hypo-allergic' when they really weren't, etc. I've tried coating everything so we'll see how that goes..

My favorites, though?

I was always looking at this ring, since forever. My God. I really like the design, maybe one day I can find something similar in real white gold so I don't have to worry about it ever tarnishing and stuff like that.

And then these~ omggggg

I used to stare at these. EVERY DAY I worked. They're beautiful. There was also another pair that was like a dark crystal, so it shone like purple/blue/blackish like, it was so gorge. But also like 29 dollar a pair which is expensive, even after the employee discount. The store was having a Buy 2 get One free so I decided to take the risk to save even more lol

The prism effect is so... no words. I love it. I can't wait to wear them!

Hopefully that'll be it until my birthday xD

edit: I take that back. Succumbed to the VS online sale. a bikini bottom plus seamless and cotton panties galore ; ^;

Kicking off the Holidays with Victoria's Secret Pt 2

Continuing from my last post~

Black Friday wasn't my only Victoria's Secret event...
I also had a chance to go to the Victoria's Secret fashion show pre-show, which was basically an live online show being shot an hour before the TV recording of the fashion show. Had a live audience and everything, and luckily I had gotten myself the chance of going. Brought my boo Rio with me :3 At first I thought the rest of the audience were like, bloggers and whatnot (maybe some were), but finding out from the guy next to me, majority of them were actually VS employees.

It was really fun, I got to see Adriana Lima in person! Who is my absolute favorite VS Angel, Candice Swanepoel was there as well, as well as more minor models, and the people behind the whole fashion show production. It was a really good experience to listen to the stories, to learn about the processes leading up to the fashion show, and seeing some of the fashion show pieces in person. Crazy ridiculous.

My outfit for the day, basically DreamV and D.I.A. and other things~ lol so many DAT ASS comments

without the coat~ one of these days I'm gonna DIY a better belt to go with stuff like this, lol

Rio in red. I love that hoe xD

Candice being interviewed. If I remember correctly, the hostess was also like the Vice Pres of Victoria's Secret, or something like that.

Some of the more minor models with one of the guys behind the model hunting/selection process

Some of the outfits from the fashion show, along with two of the main designers who whipped up a lot of the show pieces-- the black one from the New Orleans-inspired line being my favorite. Both because it was super sexy and because Adriana wore it in the show lolo

And for being there, we got gift cards. $50 cards. I was bugging out! No need to guess, I went on yet another shopping spree later lol!

Even more to come, later~
