Bronzegoddess01's Dietbet Challenge

(via her FB fanpage)
Bronzegoddess01 is an African-American youtuber that I've been watching for at least a year or so now~ she's always been impacting me with her inexpensive bargain shopping hauls, strawberry letters, and inspirational talks about faith and self-improvement.
So just recently she decided to start a little fun competition to lose weight with her followers, etc. through a site called Dietbet~ her specific challenge is $5 to enter, and the winning goal is to lose 4% of your current body weight (Dietbet has a system to make sure you're not lying or cheating lol xD)
So for example, my current weight is about 156 lbs~ so my goal is to lose at -least- 6 1/2 pounds or more in order to win. Mind you, there will be multiple winners so the pot would be split among all the winners. If -everyone- wins, you'd be basically getting the $5 you submitted xD Which is better than losing it completely, in my opinion. Right now the pot is at $270, but it'll grow as more people join, of course.
So I'm using this to motivate myself to try and go further along with becoming more fit. I've been slacking because my knee started messing up again after doing some exercises in my home, and I'm getting that checked out next week at the orthopedics :/ But in the meantime, I'll still be pressing myself to take more notice of my food intake, and doing the best I can to work out.
Just for reference, this is my body so far~ it's not so bad at the moment, though once I eat my usual salty foods I puff like a blowfish xD I'm still at my usual 36"/33"/41" measurement~
SO! I just wanted to post this in case it strikes anyone's interest at the last minute. The competition starts on tomorrow, July 19th so there is maybe 24 hours or less to sign up. Not sure if you can sign up after the start or anything like that, but if you're interested, join in!

Colonic Hydrotherapy~
So finally, yesterday was the day of sh*ts~ the day I'd finally try out the colonic hydrotherapy LOL. I went to the Cleansing Day Spa in Downtown Brooklyn, after I had bought a Lifebooker for a $30 treatment. (Their usual price is $55 per treatment)
The place itself was at 222 Livingston St on a 2nd floor. When I entered the metal steps were creaky and loud but then entering the lobby is was nice and clean. They share the space with an acupuncturist which I may look into later >w>
I had to take a lot of fiber, fruits&veggies and water beforehand and I.. didn't really do that. I didn't do anything for July 4th (read: eating a bunch of meat), but I actually didn't have much of an appetite either. I ate the rest of the box of my raisin bran, and then the morning of I ate a pretty big bowl of oatmeal.... then I tried to gulp down 3-4 glasses of water last minute. So being at the lobby I wondered how much of a jacked up experience this would be, because I was too lazy to actually go through with the pre-treatment preparations.
It wasn't too bad. The actual colonic room was like a huge bathroom, it had a toilet and a sink in there, as well as a TV (that wasn't on) and a standing fan. And then the 'Colenz' colonic machine. It felt sanitary enough, I didn't have much issue with the atmosphere. The specialist, if anything was more like an assistant who guided you through the process. That particular place is more 'self-serve' and it was weird, but I'm glad because it probably would've been awkward to have someone there for an hour with you.
I had to figure out how to release, wondering if I was doing it right or whatever so for the first 15 minutes I was being derpy, but after getting used to the pattern everything went more smoothly. But for most of the time I was feeling super tense because of the water pressure and trying to pass whatever fluids for an hour. I was feeling so free after the treatment xD Less because of all the junk that was released from my body, more because my bowels didn't have to work anymore. Afterwards they gave me some liquid multi-vitamin and water with a pill to help regain the natural bacteria in my system and I was on my way.
Experience itself was okay, I know that this was the 'hardest' one being that it was my first time. I think I want to try to make another appointment with an actual specialist being there the whole time with you, to make an actual judgment about hydrotherapy. Knowing that Otakon is soon approaching and I have to save up for a passport for my Guyana trip, I probably won't be able to follow-up right away. In the meantime? I'm gonna see if I happen to lose some more weight after this treatment. xD Going to take my dieting up a notch, look into safe water pills, continue trying to exercise more despite my knee always wanting to fail. I went to Modell's after the appointment and almost all the stuff I want (5-18lb weights, jump rope, waist trimmer, knee brace, sports bra top, running shorts, etc.) are all 10 dollars or under besides the 5-8lb medicine balls... so I will hopefully get those to get them out of the way = u= yes.

Working out 2012 ♥
Now that my fast is over, I'm back to regular eating. Surprisingly, this time around I haven't been eating nearly as much as I usually did (read: shoving food down my throat, without chewing). Maybe I should be fasting more often lol
I have more diet/exercise stuff on Tumblr, I'll share once I post them. Yup ♥
Soon though, I'll be doing a lot of things and experimenting with weight-loss.
1- When I get my tax return I'm going to finally make an appointment colonic hydrotherapy for the first time and see how that works. I'm definitely doing it. No more delays! I'm going to get it done, haha.
2- I'm going to try and do a green juice fast, within the next 2-3 weeks. My bff Laura had introduced green juice fasting to me a couple of weeks ago. Then another friend of ours tried it for a week last week and lost at least 5 pounds or so. So I'm definitely going to try it out! I'm not sure if I'm going to try it out this coming week (Valentine's day week) or the week after, but definitely before the end of February. I can't wait to see the results from that. I'll probably do it on and off, maybe for a week, once or twice a month all the way into the summer. I'll be using mainly these "mean green juice recipes" that my friends used.
3-Vitamins. Feb 2012 Ageha had this little part that caught my attention with what looked like dietary supplements, and I've been thinking about it as well. I'm not going to start taking pills (anyone who knows me knows that I hate taking any sort of pill, doesn't matter if it's antibiotics or whatever), but I was thinking of taking track a bit about the things I eat each week. Everyone knows I don't do calorie counts or anything like that, but I'm gonna try and put more yellow/orange vegetables and stuff in my normal food for Vitamin A, and then concentrate a bit on Vitamin D. Skin-wise I'm going to get a bottle of Vitamin E to put on my face to help my skin. Lately my skin's been breaking out and I want it to be clear again ; ___; so I'm gonna focus on it more often.
4- Waterrr. I need to get back to drinking water x___x This is probably the main reason why my skin's been acting up. I was getting pretty dehydrated over my fast as well. So, definitely more water in my system. Also aloe juice! Because it's tasty lol.
5- Morning routines & Yoga. By morning routines, I do not mean running xD At all. I don't do running.
My friend way back last year had showed me some exercise routines that I ended up doing once a day for a good month or so, and my legs started getting toned. It was amazing xD I really want to get back into it again because it really helped with my stamina for every day activities. Mainly were hip abductions and leg kicks, but they did pretty well xD Also! crunches as well.
I probably won't be able to do yoga as much as I want to, but I'm going to try to go at least twice or three times a month, AT LEAST. Until I build up strength in my arms and stuff again, and then I'll try to go more frequently. I was thinking of doing the belly-dancing exercises again but eh... after a while it got repetitive. I'd have to get into it again lol. And maybe do it less compared to last year so I don't grow bored of it.
Eventually I hope to probably try jump-roping, and trying to get a new bike so I can bike around once it gets warmer and stuff :3
So once again, good luck to me xD I'm going to really need it, especially if I'm trying to be fit in time for beach season, Otakon, and Comic Con.
Some video routines and stuff for inspiration:

Pentecost + the past week
Did I ever mention how retarded Medicaid is? Always jacking up my flow.
Last week I got the notice that my insurance was back on. I went to GYN, everything went fine and dandy. Didn't go to my main physician yet to get my second Gardasil, but I was supposed to have an eye doctor appointment on Wednesday.
They call a day or two before to tell me that Medicaid told -them- they weren't going to pay for appointments until after August 29th.
Are you freaking kidding me? Like seriously? You hassle me for months about going to get my eyes and teeth checked but the moment I do, you're not gonna -pay- them till months later?
I really can't deal with them, like come the hell on. Sometimes I wish I had a full-time job and just paid for GOOD health insurance myself. Or just pay for the stupid appointments out of pocket because these fools can't get their stuff together.
I was going to call them but I'm not even gonna bother frustrating myself with them anymore. God forbid I go blind or something.
Also forgot about Pentecost in the midst of the baby shower and everything else, so my fasting was complete fail for most of the week. When I couldn't do my simple 1-meal-a-day fast for jack, I decided to go a little bit extreme in disciplining myself by going through a mostly liquids only fast for 3 days. It was harder than I thought! But I went through it.
After service I went to my pastor's house for some serious noms, and I made a very lemony lemon cake with raspberry filling. I ended up completely stuffing myself and had this huuuge stomachache and a 12-hour high. NEVER AGAIN LOL
Plans this week? Homework, homework, more homework. I'm cracking down on this Event Planning certification thing, I'm going to get this thing done and over with before the end of June. I did some homework last week that still needs typing, and I also finished reviewing all the chapters on the online curriculum and the end-of-chapter quizzes.
Now I'm just going to kill my social life to finish work, since H.W. was always an issue of mine since middle school and I know if I don't push myself, I'll never get it done. I'm not going outside unless someone's paying for me, or if I gotta leave for my fieldwork/networking homework!
Besides the homework being done, I also don't have money to spend anyways because LOL gotta pay my shopping services and whatnot.
/why I can't have nice things
Upside? Once I got my certification I'll be back in business, I'll be back on the prowl for work, internships, and then to work on the certification to my Event Design course. And yknow, summer fun and bikinis and beach and all that good shit.

Thanks. Thanks a lot.
One thing I cannot stand? NY health insurance.
Like seriously, why the fuck is my health insurance getting cut off every so often? It's ridiculous.
My insurance was supposed to last until August when I'd need to fill out the service continuation stuff... but apparently it got cut off on April 30th?? Come on!!
What pisses me off the most is that they never sent a notification of it being cut off or anything like that. I had a GYN appointment on Friday, and then I was going to travel to my primary care for my second Gardasil shot right afterwards. But because they cut off my shit without letting me know, I couldn't do any of that. Thank God Planned Parenthood doesn't try and charge if you don't cancel appointments within such-and-such hours... otherwise I'd be fucked out of 85 bucks I obviously didn't have :/
Like do they understand how expensive it is to travel back and forth for no reason? Being a jobless student = me being OCD and cramming several tasks into one day so I can take advantage of free transfers and stuff so I'll have extra money to get to my next class whenever.
they just had to wreck my wholeee flow up. Now I have to go visit this dude on Wednesday to apply again. I won't be able to go to my GYN until JUNE when my insurance is hopefully back on again, and the same for my shot :/ complete b.s., I swear.
