Summer '13 INSPO
I always wanted to get along with these sort of posts, but I always ended up forgetting or getting too lazy. Aren't you glad that I'm finally doing this? xD;
Agejo is my favorite style over all, because it's much more mature~ I like sweet soft accents of stuff like Ank Rouge and Liz Lisa and whatnot, but it's about that time where I'm trying to add more variety in my wardrobe (so lolita + my few DreamV items won't continue to be the most worn items in my closet) so I'm looking at a bunch of different outfits, different colors, etc.
When it comes to summer, I like to get flashy. This coming season is one of those rare times I actually look into an EGG magazine for inspiration. I might not have posted -that- many outfits on my blog and places in the past during the summer, but when it gets warm and a bit sweaty I'm all about those shorts and booty buttcheekz and-- yeah. You see where I'm going with this...
With that being said... my little inspo spam~
(Click the thumbnails to enlargen the photos)
I'm not only into all the white and light soft colors like I've always been into, as seen in my collages, but for the summer I'm also looking at a lot of poppy, contrasting colors. Especially white and black. (Where can a girl get a verticle-striped bxw blouse top in the city?) There's something about the black x white stripes, the crazy printed leggings and the polkadots that are really getting to me around this time. I really want to try and do something with it if I can find them around my area. Even things like acid washes are starting to catch my eye as well.
I've also been looking a lot at these salmon and rusted pinks that pop up from time to time. Even as far as haircolor~ you see my clip of Sayaka Araki with this pinkish caramelish hair tone that looks so pretty. It can be styled to look a bit grungy like this, more mature and sexy like Sayaka's, or made with a bit of a blend effect with different extensions like Pikarin. Every time summer comes along I always look at pictures like these and wish I could do something similar... I might just get a bunch of weave and make my own wig in that color xD I'm craving it.
Other than that, I'm also still feeling ombre-style lilac or sakura pink hair... but if anything I'm probably just gonna get clip-in extensions of those colors. Oh, and tinsel hair as well~ my sister apparently got a connection for cheap-priced hair extensions, up to 30". You know I want to be about that life xDD; If I wasn't so broke, I'd so be indulging in everything.
As far as nail art I'm expecting to do more on my own hands~ and maybe even feet. I really want cute light summer colors that will go with anything and everything i wear. I'm planning on learning how to do my own nails~ since Rio did mine back in December I've been craving to try because now I see how easy it is! I just bought myself a UV lamp and some deco items (crowns and whatnot) that I don't really see in my area for cheap~next I'll be trying to get myself some more acrylic and UV gel stuffs and hopefully nail polish... in the meantime I'll just be borrowing from Rio LOL (sorry gurl)
Like the feel of this stuff? What are you into for the summer?

First Look at Ageha's Perfect Eye Make Book
Yeah... yeah. This mook didn't even take two weeks to get to me.
This is just a random preview on some of the pages that are in this mook~ unfortunately due to my schedule and lack of good hardware, I won't be making actual scans of this magazine.
When I first requested this mook from Kinokuniya I had to think to myself.. like, how more in depth can they get? Any reader of the Ageha-branded magazines would know that the issues already go super detailed as far as makeup points and whatnot.
As soon as I received it, however, I had to literally stop what I was doing.
If you too, think that they couldn't get any more in depth, just get this book and wait for it.
When you first open and flip through the first few pages, you'll see a few familiar faces, but one girl in particular shocked me-- Midori Fukasawa. If you don't know her, she's a very popular lolita model~ and she's in this magazine displaying some of her own makeup styles. So this book isn't only for the hime/gal audience, but general cute makeup for Japanese eyes.
Part of the book is split into 8 different parts-- "Gal", "Girly Girl/Gal", "Princess", "Foreigner", "Cat Eye", "Office Lady", "Akameji", and "Natural". It touches up on eyelid shaping (using fiber/eyelid glue/tape/etc), eyelining and different shadow looks, it breaks down lashes (like... legit having almost all the popular lash brands displayed so you can see how each of them look)... CIRCLE LENSES... like this book really, -really- goes in. If you're into trying out all the different eye shapes and whatnot, you will have fun with this seriously.
Since my images are not in order at all, I'm just going to post a spam~ There's not much for me to talk about since my Japanese is really limited and I haven't seriously observed every single picture and diagram in this book. But I'm telling you, it's amazing.

Long-awaited Liz Lisa 2013 Fukubukuro
Despite lucky packs being super cheap compared to the amount of stuff inside, they always turn out super expensive, especially when you're trying to import-- so I knew that in reality, I couldn't get too much.
Baby, the Stars Shine Bright's lucky packs this year was super expensive, and honestly it discouraged me because their cheapest was like 200 USD. :/ I started the whole "well back in MY DAY they had affordable little basic lucky packs for 70-150 bucks and blahblahblah" in my head. Angelic Pretty was alright, but I wasn't too interested in what they had (or matching basically everyone in my community). Innocent World was tempting... but I wanted to try and break away from getting lolita all the time, so I looked at more gal-type stuff. As far as pre-sales, MARS, La Pafait, D.I.A. was already sold out a looong time ago. It was pretty disappointing. But Liz Lisa was still there...
At the end of the day I ended up getting a Liz Lisa fukubukuro! I had my bby Yuuki snatch one for me from the actual store, since the store and the online shop was a bit different (the online store had plain white bags, meanwhile the in-store had pink floral print bags..) As tempted as I was with the luggage pack, which was so adorable, I ended up getting the big ribbon tote bag. Really, when it comes to Liz Lisa, I only go for the bags themselves. Liz Lisa's sizing is a bit eh for me and I never expect to fit into their clothing.. I wanted to go for D.I.A., or La Pafait, but since Yuuki was running a service for mostly lolita items, I doubted that he'd get one of those in time before they sold out...
Overall my lucky pack was like $175ish after Yuuki's fees, which isn't too bad. I can't imagine how much it would have been for the luggage pack xD
But my God the shipping...? The shipping would've been around 80 dollars which was INSANE. So my lucky pack was sitting in his room for the longest time because I never got around to pay for it. But luckily one of our friends was going to Japan to visit! And somehow, by the grace of God, I was able to evade that crappy shipping price altogether xD Thank you Rei for smuggling my lucky pack into the states..
But anyways, on to the pictures...
Unimaginable feels taking place LOL
In this image, you can really see the size of this bag. It's actually -larger- than my Victoria's Secet tote bag that I always carry around... completely stuffed, it's actually bigger than my whole upper body, both length and width-wise. Crazy.
The mound of stuff I got! The main colors being natural whites, browns and pink, as most of Liz Lisa's stuff are nowadays.
The coat that I received-- it's a nice fuzzy coat. It actually fits me (length-wise.. of course my breasts would forbid it to close), but I'm not planning to keep it~ if you're interested in purchasing, look for my next post!
Original price: ¥ 16, 590
Left's neckline detail~
Two -really- cute tops~ both of them made of this soft, knitted material, one more of an off-white color, the other a tint or so darker. The sheer necklines are really cute (though a bit annoying because of bra-straps showing and stuff!), and perfect now that spring is finally coming along to New York City--
Original Prices: ¥ 7,245 & ¥ 6,195
This dress... is a bit of a sad irony. It was so beautiful, the fabric soft and light and flowy ; w;
BUT. IT DIDNT FIT ME.
This absolutely blew my mind. The dress even has a elastic waist band that gives you a LOT of space... but the bust area is just like 'nope lol'. It gave me the serious 'grandma boobs' because my rack had no place to go but down.. it was really depressing ; w;
Collar detail
With any Japanese brand stuff, it's usually always the dresses that fit, and the tops and everything ill-fitting, but with Liz Lisa, it's the complete opposite. So all my tops, and even the skirt I received fit me... but the dress doesn't. I am disappoint.
Luckily, a friend bought it off of me ; u; so now it has a good home.
Original price: ¥9,345
I'm... blown that I can get this skirt on. And it's actually comfortable.
It's pretty cute! At first I was worried that the cut and stuff would look really bad on me, but it actually rest nicely on my hips. Of course it's a bit on the short side, but that's nothing that shorts can't fix~
Original Price: ¥ 7,245
And finally, the little makeup? pouch? It's nice and soft but it the design doesn't really make sense to me. I don't know, the whole fur with frill kind of throws me off xD And I already have enough pouches and makeup bags to last me the rest of my youth...
Original Price: ¥4,095
So the lucky pack was like what, ¥12,500 (a little over 130USD)?
While the value of the things in this bag came out to ¥50, 715!
That's over 530 USD! And not even including the possible value of the lucky pack tote!
AHSDKBAHWEJABDHSABD
Even though I wasn't able to fit absolutely -everything-, nor am I planning to keep all of it, I'm so glad I got this lucky pack ; u; It's just.. AHHHHHHHH

January Purchases--
I did a bit of birthday shopping throughout the month of January~ Luckily a lot of it were just sale items that I snatched up really quickly xD
But first some of my things from Guyana~
I managed to get this bracelet for myself while I was in Georgetown--
I've always wanted shell jewelry like this, but for whatever reason here in NYC, people want to sell them for 8 dollars or so... and I'm extremely cheap when it comes to accessories :x
So I was pleasantly surprised when I managed to snag this for what would've been 3-4 USD~ it's very pretty, even though it does that weird 'rusting' (? I don't know what this is called) that some shells do when they turn blueish or green.
These I got for my sister. My sister found that her father's side of the family was Guyanese when she started connecting with relatives on facebook-- so now she embraces that nationality. I wanted to get something for her since I was there, but I didn't want to get her the typical "flag" jewelry or anything obviously touristy... but then the jewelry itself (where I went, at least) were very afrocentric which isn't really my sister's style.. so I got these. When I go back I'll probably try and get something better for her.
Some of what's left of my Guyanese cash~
don't be fooled, this money is literally worthless, haha.
200 Guyanese dollars = 1 USD
So here you have like $5.60 worth, LOL
We carried maybe 50-60 USD worth for food down there, though, and we barely used any of our money.
The hotel we stayed at had complimentary breakfast, and their dinners were no more than 3-5 dollars. And then when we were staying at a pastor's place, we were being fed there so we barely had to use our money, really.
I can't wait to go back~ I'll probably end up bringing about $100 worth so I can do some real shopping haha
But yes... back to my birthday purchases.
One of the stores in Downtown Brooklyn were having a sale and so I got these for a good price...
The original price for this 2-iron set was 19.99, I got it for 9.99. It gets very hot and it doesn't have a dial like my old one, so I really only use this for my own hair and my human hair stuff. I still have my old iron but I'll probably end up replacing it once I find a new iron with a dial on it.
The place had their Outre extensions on sale 25% off... so I spent like 16 dollars I think on this hair. 18 inch wefts. The only bad thing was that the hair was kind of reddish for a #2-- but I managed to make it blend well with the 24-26" human hair extensions I did have, so I just used it to help fill those extensions out.
February Ageha like I usually get~
Getting really tired of the free makeup bags though. How many makeup bags do they figure their readers need???
They should start putting hair accessories or more lashes as free gifts... or something
Some more dollar books I got from Book-Off. I kind of regret these since they're kind of old and the fashions in there are kind of tacky.
FAIRY LASHES. The "Shiny Lash".
I was so excited to get these, I got them off of ebay. I really wanted to try them out because they were my favorite lashes that Sakurina and some of the other Ageha models wore, and it made them look soo pretty.
However when I got them I realized they were actually top lashes. wtf?
I looked back on the official website and it said "top lashes-- but can be used as bottoms as well" and I was like whaaaaaat
I'm usually very iffy about using top lashes as bottom lashes... the lashes have a different curve than if they were made to be bottoms.. so trying to work with these were really weird and kind of frustrating at first. The whole band didn't want to sit on my face right, without bending itself out of place really weird. Finally I cut up a pair and figured out a way to wear them a way that I like. I really enjoy them! I'll probably do an actual lash post at some point soon.
Ruby Kisses' HD Gel Eyeliner-- the best manmade item ever. My korean eyeliner finally had given out in December and I needed a new liner fast, and Ruby Kisses proved to be absolutely perfect.
The gel glides on so easily-- maybe a bit too easy....
While it seems really moist and slick, once it sets it's very hard to remove! It doesn't smudge once it sets, it doesn't melt, none of that mess. It lasts for so long, and it stays jet black. I love it so much. I'm never going back to bigger brand liners again. Beauty store brands are becoming my BFFs.
Now this is the little birthday gift you'll get from Sephora this time around, if you're a Beauty Insider. I didn't get my gift from last year because a year or two before because I just couldn't get along to it-- but this year I ended up going and getting my item, and they gave me these little mini-sized mascara and highlighter by Benefit.
And let me tell you, this stuff is so good. The mascara's nice, it makes my lashes look nice and full. Maybe not so much to the point that Makeup Forever would, but this still does nicely.
If you're a Beauty Insider-- definitely get this item. Just do it. My God.
I'll probably come up with a beauty favorites video soon~ since my camera and the lighting in my room seem to have an issue really cooperating, I'm gonna probably compensate by talking about some of my most-used items~
